Joyful Testimony: On Easter Sunday, Jiaen Church held a baptism ceremony, welcoming ten brothers and sisters into the name of the Lord.
On the recently celebrated Easter Sunday, our church held a particularly solemn and joyful baptism ceremony. On that day, eight adults and two children were baptized, publicly declaring their commitment to the Lord in the presence of fellow brothers and sisters, embarking on a brand new spiritual journey.
The timing of this baptism is filled with spiritual significance—taking place on Easter Sunday. As we commemorate the death of our Lord Jesus Christ for the world and His powerful resurrection on the third day, these ten brothers and sisters, through baptism, symbolically die, are buried, and rise with the Lord, declaring their desire to follow Him for a lifetime and to live out the new life of resurrection.
Before the baptism, the eight adult candidates stood before the pulpit, where, under the guidance of the pastor, they collectively declared their faith, expressing their determination to follow the Lord without turning back. This moment was filled with solemnity and emotion, symbolizing their new spiritual journey as they became part of the body of Christ and members of God's family, while also inspiring the Christians present to reflect on their own faith beginnings.
A moment of gratitude during baptism: One sister received baptism at the hands of the pastor, humbly kneeling and fully entrusting her life to the Lord. The baptismal water gently sprinkled over her head, symbolizing the old self passing away and the new self being born, as God's grace personally touched her life. Everyone present was moved by her devotion and obedience.
Commitment before the Lord: Two children were also baptized during this Easter ceremony. Before the ceremony began, their parents stood with them at the front, solemnly declaring their faith to the congregation and committing to raise their children in the teachings of the Lord, helping them to know and draw close to God from a young age. This was a beautiful testimony of faith being passed down.
Group photo, glory to the Lord: After the ceremony, all the baptized individuals gathered for a group photo with the pastor and church leaders, capturing this sacred and memorable day. This marks not only a new beginning in their faith but also a day of celebration for our entire spiritual family in the church.
May the Lord continue to strengthen the faith of the newly baptized brothers and sisters, and inspire each of us as believers to live continually in the power of the resurrection, bearing beautiful witness for the Lord!
