Be disciples of Christ, build deep connections through care and love, and commit to spreading the gospel and God's love and truth. We encourage believers to support each other in their faith journey and engage in mission work, demonstrating Christ's compassion and dedication.
We pray TCMC will become
- A church of discipleship: Everyone is equipped and trained in the nurturing system to become disciples who follow Jesus.
- A church of small groups: Everyone is cared for and shepherded in group life, becoming a family that loves and cares for one another.
- A church of mission: Everyone is called and sent in the mission vision, becoming messengers of the gospel.
Goals: Life renewal, spreading the gospel; communion with God, devout life; discipleship training, life maturity; community care, mutual love.

What do we need to do?
Life Renewal, Spreading the Gospel
Through the process of faith transformation, spreading the gospel means sharing God's love and redemption, inviting others to Christ and experiencing the joy and hope of new life.
Communion with God, Devout Life
Build a close relationship with God and cultivate a devout life. Through prayer and Bible reading, believers pursue intimate relationship with God in their spiritual journey.
Discipleship Training, Life Maturity
Teaching and nurturing believers to help them mature in faith, grow in Christ, and experience abundant life.
Community Care, Mutual Love
Care for and support one another, build deep friendships, grow together in faith. In a warm family, we love each other, support each other, and experience God's love together.
Why do we do this?
In the Bible, God loves the world and wants everyone to be reborn and build a close relationship with Him. Jesus commands us to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations. We help believers mature through prayer, Bible reading, and discipleship training.
The Bible tells us
- John 13:35 — By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
- Matthew 22:39 — Love your neighbor as yourself.
- Philippians 2:2-4 — Be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition.
- Luke 9:23 — Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
- Matthew 28:19 — Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.
- 1 Peter 2:9 — You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Who We Are
TCMC belongs to the Chinese Methodist Church of New Zealand. We are a spiritual family established by the power of the Holy Spirit, including care groups, youth fellowship, and Sunday school across Tauranga. In fellowship, believers share their faith journey, strengthen care and support, and participate deeply in church ministry.
