Bethany originally means "house of suffering," but through the care of our Lord Jesus, it has become a house of love. Jesus made several trips to Jerusalem, often needing to go to Bethany because there lived Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, whom He loved. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will."
